Louise Whalley Updated by Louise Whalley

This page outlines the new functionality included in the Portal update available on Wednesday 26th March 2025

Support for Weigand Proximity Readers

What have we done?

A third party Weigand reader can now be wired into a T2 device. These readers can then be configured using the web portal.

Why have we done this?

To allow customers to continue to use existing Weigand proximity readers/cards.

How will you benefit?

For customers moving away from older ranges of clocks, this now allows Weigand proximity readers to be wired into T2 devices and configured within the Portal.

Details of the change

Changed have been made to the device firmware and portal to allow configuration of the Weigand reader. Additional documentation around this feature and its configuration can be found here

Firmware version 2.8.0 will be required on the T2 device to support this new feature, release notes can be found here.

Retaining External Reader Settings on Deactivation of Device

What have we done?

We have made a change to ensure that when a device is deactivated any settings for external readers are being retained.

Why have we done this?

To allow customers to retain all device settings when deactivating and reactivating a device.

How will you benefit?

These setting will no longer need to be re-entered if a device is deactivated and reactivated at a later date as all of the settings are now being retained.

Details of the change

When a device is deactivated any settings against the external reader will now be retained, when the device is later reactivated, these setting will be populated with the previously stored settings rather than the default settings.
