Portal Release notes - 30th April 2025
Updated
by Louise Whalley
This page outlines the new functionality included in the Portal update available on Wednesday 30th April 2025
Data capture against Activities
What have we done?
Extended the existing Activities functionality to allow text and numeric data to be entered against an activity.
Why have we done this?
To extend the use cases of the activities functionality by allowing customers to capture more data against an activity record.
How will you benefit?
Additional information can now be captured against an activity record using the onscreen keyboard on the T2 device.
Details of the change
Changes have been made to the Portal and Firmware to allow for additional information to be captured at the T2 using the onscreen keyboard against an activity record to pass into Time and Attendance.
Additional documentation to support this feature can be found here
Firmware version 2.9.0 will be required on the T2 device to support this new feature, release notes can be found here.
If using this feature please ensure that devices are upgraded to 2.9.0 or later prior to importing Activities with capture actions. If Firmware version 2.8.0 or less is in use, this may result in unexpected behaviour of the device.
Limit devices to a specific clocking direction
What have we done?
We have added additional parameters to allow devices to be configured to only accept a specific clock in or clock out direction.
Why have we done this?
To allow our customers to configure their devices inline with their operational requirements. This will allow customers who would like to dedicate devices to specific directions at similar or different locations to do so.
How will you benefit?
If you have busy areas during shift changes, you could dedicate specific devices for clocking in and different devices for clocking out.
Details of the change
Allowed clocking directions have been added to the Device Settings tab against each specific device. This allows devices to be configured to a specific direction. The default setting will be both, once 'In' is selected, users will only be able to clock in using this device and will not have the option to clock out on this device. Once 'Out' is selected, users will only be able to clock out using this device and will not have the option to clock in on this device.

Please note: If Directionless clocking is set to yes in Global Device settings, this overrides the option for Allowed clocking direction. Device settings guide can be found here
AI Model generation request
What have we done?
We have made changes to shorten clocking model request lifetimes and randomly lengthen expiry dates.
Why have we done this?
To resolve an issue where all clocking models were being generated condensed, when UK bank holidays occurred.
How will you benefit?
Following the change AI clocking models generations for users will be randomised, improving any performance issues around the process when Bank holidays occur.
Details of the change
We have shortened clocking model request lifetimes and randomly lengthened expiry dates to avoid spikes in demand on the server.
