Louise Whalley Updated by Louise Whalley

This page outlines the new functionality and changes included in the Portal update available on Wednesday 29th July 2026.

Device and Access Manager

Duplicate Users

What have we done?

New functionality has been added to User Admin and People Connect to prevent the initial duplication of Users. Along with a new User resolution feature added to User Admin to reduce the time required to correct the data by support and consultants.

Why have we done this?

Several datasets have been found to contain duplicate users. These duplicates have caused the link between Time & Attendance and Device & Access Manager to be broken for some users. This has led to users not being synchronised between systems and support calls to be raised. Once the cause has been established it also requires many hours of manually editing multiple systems to remove the duplication.

How will you benefit?

Changes have been made to prevent the initial duplication of Users.

Details of the change

User will not see any material changes as these have been made in the background, the new user resolution feature will only be available to users flagged as consultants, this will be used by colleagues bade in services or support at OneAdvanced.

How will you benefit?

PEOPLE CONNECT Version 2026.07.29.0

User Tags causing excessive service bus messages for large data sets

What have we done?

We established that for large business' with a lot of devices the terminals were accumulating in the region of 300,000 pending messages on the Device & Access Manager Service Bus queue. Every tag resync cycle was dispatching events for every employee-tag association regardless of whether they had already been sent.

Why have we done this?

We have introduced a mechanism to track which user-tag associations have already been communicated to downstream devices.

How will you benefit?

Improvements in message queues for large data sets will now avoid any delays to other messages on the service bus, such as clocking's.

Details of the change

These changes have been made to PeopleConnect and the latest version of PeopleConnect Version 2026.07.29.0 will need to be installed onto the server.
