Connecting a barcode reader to the Smart Biometric Clock (T2)

One Advanced supplies the Newland HR32 with a customised cable with bare wire ends for connecting to the Smart Biometric Clock.

To connect a barcode reader to the clock, a compatible backboard is required (Rev. E or above). Please ask your sales representative or an engineer if one is not already fitted to your clock.

The barcode reader should be provided with the following:

  • Barcode reader
  • Customised cable
  • Wall mount
  • Wiring guide

Installation steps

  1. Install the wall mount in the desired location
  2. Power down and remove the Smart Biometric Clock from its bracket
  3. If it's not already fitted, install the backboard (MF-1024) into the wall bracket
  4. Run the new cable into the wall bracket and wire according to the below diagram. This diagram is only relevant for the reader supplied by Advanced. If another reader is being used, the wire colours may be different. Care should be taken to avoid damaging equipment.
