Activities Feature Overview - Web Portal & T2 Firmware

1    What are activities

Activities is a feature that allows for different tasks or actions of a person to be recorded within The Advanced Device and Access Manager portal (AD&AM) via a T2 Terminal.

2    Why use activities

Activities is used to manage and record the different activities that an employee does throughout their workday. When combined with Advanced Time & Attendance (not a requirement to use Activities), Activities can used to effectively calculate business cost.

A use case for Activities would be a 3rd party courier service that sorts and delivers parcels for 2 different online retailers. Each of these retailers has a contract with the courier that vary in cost accordingly. Using Activities each retailer would be set up as an Activity on the T2 Terminal.

Employees would then sign in when they are handling Company A’s parcels before signing in when handling Company B’s parcels. This way the business can generate useful metrics and if combined with Advanced Time & Attendance, calculate pay of the employees relative to which company they were supporting.

3    Pre-Requisites/Assumptions

When using Activities, it is recommended that ‘Enable Face ID toggle clocking’ is switched off against the required devices. This will avoid the face being recognised and an in/out clocking being made on approaching the device to change activities.

4 How to get access to Activities

Access to Activities is available to all customers. Activities cannot be set up on any T2 Terminal running less than version 1.8.1.
