Support for Fire Alarm Interface

What have we done?

The T2 can now be wired into a Fire Alarm Interface unit to allow it to receive alarm signals from fire panels. The optional access control back board must be fitted to the T2 to provide a way to connect to the Fire Alarm Interface. Alarms will be received in your T&A installation to allow reports to be printed or doors to be unlocked.

Why have we done this?

To allow alarms from fire panels to be received by T2 devices.

How will you benefit?

For customers moving away from older ranges of clocks, this now allows Fire Alarm interface units to be wired into T2 devices and configured within the Firmware.

Details of the change

Changed have been made to the device firmware to allow configuration of the Fire Alarm interface from the device. Additional documentation around this feature and its configuration can be found here

We have reversed the direction of the timeout against the messages displayed on the device.

Why have we done this?

We have made this change from user feedback to improve the user experience.

How will you benefit?

An improved the user experience.

Details of the change

By reversing the timeout to a decreasing timeout, it is clearer to the end user, whereas previously the progress bar was increasing, this could have potentially given users the impression that further information would load.

Weather display updates to T2 home screens

What have we done?

We identified a scenario where when switching the weather on or off on the device home screen, this wasn't updated until the user navigated away from the screen.

Why have we done this?

To improve the user experience.

How will you benefit?

When switching the weather display on or off on the device home screen, this is updated without any further interaction.

Details of the change

Weather option is applied without having to navigate away from screen.

Enrolling with a Prox card whilst device offline error handling

What have we done?

Improved the end user messaging when enrolling with a prox card whilst the device is offline.

Why have we done this?

To improve the user experience

How will you benefit?

Improved/clearer messaging to users when this action cannot be completed.

Details of the change

A message is now generated on the device advising the user that you can't enrol a prox card when the terminal is offline.

Badges being deleted from T2 Devices

What have we done?

We identified an instance where after a badge was removed at a device, when other devices were notified they could log an error and fail to remove the badge. We have made changes to ensure that the badge details are removed from all subsequent device databases.

Why have we done this?

To ensure that once a badge is removed this cannot be used on any devices.

How will you benefit?

Ensuring all devices within the business are updated in a timely manner.

Details of the change

Once a badge has been removed from a device, the message is sent to the portal to remove the badge details and removed from each subsequent device for that business.
