This page outlines the improved functionality included in the firmware update available on Thursday 18th January 2024.

1.     Improvements to internal card reader

What have we done?

Improved resilience of internal card reader to allow recovery from some hardware faults.

Why have we done this?

Some internal card readers were not reading cards when the internal reader failed, which resulted in devices needing a reboot to resolve.

How will you benefit?

The improvements made will mean that the device will not require a reboot in this scenario as the Firmware will check the internal card reader automatically.

2.     Reduced brightness of rear LEDs

What have we done?

Reduced the brightness of rear LEDs when device is idle.

Why have we done this?

To reduce power consumption and lower the idle temperature of the devices.

How will you benefit?

Devices will feel cooler to the touch, and consume less power.
